Issued by the Bureau of Software Personnel (unaccredited, unpaid, and deeply opinionated).
This survey classifies software personnel into one of six types. Section A presents forced selections — pick the statement that is more true, even if both apply. Section B is standard self-assessment. Section C contains six field exercises with real code, real diffs, and one real incident. Answer as you actually behave, not as your résumé claims. There are no incorrect classifications, only uncomfortable ones.
The examination and your classification (Part I) are free — no account, no card. The optional Classification Annex (Parts II–III, the complete printable personnel file) costs US $7.00, one time, charged only if you choose to unlock it after seeing your result. Payment is handled by our merchant of record at checkout; your dossier unlocks as soon as payment is verified. 30-day refund — the Bureau does not keep money for broken files. The Bureau files you anonymously by default. Add a name or a crest and they appear in the header of every printed page — both stay on this device.
30 items in three sections. Section A uses forced choice (two statements) to reduce social-desirability bias. Section B samples everyday work situations. Section C is a situational-judgment block: six field exercises scored on how you act, not what you claim. By construction, every profile receives exactly 16 scoring opportunities across the 96 item slots — balance is designed in, not calibrated after the fact. Scores are reported as continuous profiles, never fixed types. This is an instrument for reflection and entertainment; it is not a validated psychometric assessment, and the Bureau would be the first to say so.

Every page of your own file is computed from your 30 answers — same layout, your numbers, your name in the header. Three of the twelve pages shown here; the rest is not.

Grumbles, praise, and formal complaints are entered into the public record below (via GitHub). The Bureau reads everything and replies to almost everything.
